Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.
How We Use Cookies
Affiliate Manager uses cookies to:
- Keep you signed in to your account
- Remember your preferences and settings, such as your language
- Credit affiliates who refer customers to Affiliate Manager’s own affiliate program
- If you agree, analyze how you use our website so we can improve it
- If you agree, measure which pages and campaigns bring visitors to us
Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, authentication, and account management. Without these cookies, our services cannot be provided.
One of them, cookie_consent, stores your answer to our cookie banner (granted or denied) so we can respect it on every page. It lasts one year and is sent only to our own site.
Two more are set only to provide what you ask for: NEXT_LOCALE remembers the language of the pages you visit (one year), and am_terms_accepted records, for 15 minutes while you sign up, that you accepted our Terms of Service.
Analytics Cookies
We use analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website, which helps us improve our services and user experience. Google Analytics, DataFast Analytics and PostHog load only after you accept non-essential cookies; until then none of them runs, and nothing is sent to them. PostHog records browsing sessions, only after you accept: it records them with all text on the page and everything you type masked, to help us diagnose usability problems. No analytics run on affiliate portal pages (/portal). Separately, our error-tracking provider Sentry reports errors for every visitor, because it is part of how the service runs; those reports are scrubbed of email addresses. Only if you accept, Sentry also records a masked replay of a sample of sessions and of any session in which an error occurs, so we can reproduce faults.
Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferences, language settings, and other customizations.
Marketing Cookies
We measure which campaigns and referral links bring visitors to our site so we can judge how well our marketing works. We do not set advertising or ad-personalization cookies: those consent signals stay denied, and we do not run advertising pixels on this site.
Following a referral link to Affiliate Manager’s own affiliate program sets a cookie named aff_tracking, which lasts 30 days. It records the affiliate code, the link, a session id and the time of the click, so that if you subscribe, the right affiliate is credited. It is cryptographically signed so it cannot be forged, and httpOnly so page scripts cannot read it. It is never used for advertising. Tracking links that lead to other businesses’ sites set no cookie: they pass the referral in the link address instead.
Only if you accept non-essential cookies, we set a cookie named am_landing, which lasts 30 days. It records the page you arrived on, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the address, so that if you later sign up we can tell which page or campaign brought you. It holds no identifier, does not follow you to other sites, and is read once, at signup. When our server sets it, it is httpOnly; if you accept later in your visit, it is set by the page instead and is not.
Third-Party Cookies
We may use third-party services that set their own cookies, including:
- Google Analytics: For website analytics; loads only if you accept
- DataFast Analytics: For website analytics; loads only if you accept
- PostHog: For product analytics and masked session recording; loads only if you accept
- Sentry: For error diagnostics; session replay only if you accept
- Vercel: Hosting. Its Speed Insights measures page performance without cookies
- Stripe: Payment processing. Its cookies are set on Stripe’s own checkout and billing pages, not on ours
The analytics cookies above are set on our own domain. Advertising and ad-personalization signals stay denied, so they are not used to show you ads.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can:
- Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or delete certain cookies.
- Cookie Consent Banner: When you first visit our website, you can choose to accept or decline non-essential cookies through our consent banner.
- Cookie Settings: You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
Please note that blocking some types of cookies may impact your experience on our website and the services we can offer.
Cookie Retention
Different cookies are retained for different periods:
- Session Cookies: Deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent Cookies: Remain on your device until they expire or you delete them
- Authentication Cookies: Typically last for 30 days or until you log out
